High North Records is a combination of both a recording studio and dedicated production staffs who are focused on helping recording artists achieve their goals. We provide audio recording, production, and mastering services, as well as arrangement and songwriting assistance. High North has gained a reputation as the place where great recordings are made.
Recording at High North studio is a unique and awesome experience. Situated in the center of a gorgeous 156-acre estate, the studio boasts comfy rooms with the feeling of a log cabin retreat. We’ve got the atmosphere & vibe needed to get your music down at the highest level possible. The privacy of High North studio is unlike anywhere else making this place perfect for getting your best performance. If you need a break from an intense session, the studio is located ten minutes from Grand Beach, Mb. which has been titled "One of the top ten beaches in the world" by Playboy Magazine. High North studio is an easy 35-minute commute from Winnipeg city limits. Shuttle service is available for out-of-town clients
 The live room at High North studio incorporates walls of log pine and field stone, as well as a 16’  high cathedral ceiling providing a warm, natural sounding space. The curved main wall and additional non-opposing walls eliminate standing sound waves and  provide optimal acoustics for recording virtually any instrument. The live room accesses both the heavily-dampened isolation room and the control room. The control room shares a similar feel to the live room and is a combination of great acoustics and a comfortable environment.
 High North studio is a digital recording environment incorporating an industry standard analogue recording path and high-quality A/D conversion. We use the Digidesign Pro Tools platform for recording, editing and mixing, and Steinberg Wavelab for mastering.
 The Artist lounge at High North can comfortably accommodate up to six persons, and is furnished with couches, futons, and beds. It has a television with DVD/VCR, a foosball and pool table is also available. A bathroom including shower is  located on the main level. High North also boasts a full kitchen including a refrigerator, stove, freezer, microwave, toaster-oven, coffee maker (the essential studio tool), and a water cooler. Accommodations are always included in pricing when recording at High North studio.
 High North also provides clients with secure FTP capability for convenient mix previews and file sharing.

Please contact us regarding pricing details. Our sincere goal is to tailor a package to suit your specific needs and budget. We offer free pre production on records (EP's and Full Lengths), and are always open to flat-rate project pricing. Payment plans can be entertained to provide alternate solutions for serious musicians. If you're serious about music, then we're serious about working with you!
Basic recording and mixing rate:
• $350 per day - includes recording engineer and overnight accomodations

Looking into a grant?
High North Records is fully accredited through Manitoba film and sound. We offer application assistance for projects booked with us.
When to book?
We generally recommend booking large projects such as full lengths 2 months in advance if possible, smaller projects can often be scheduled on a shorter-notice basis. Call us to discuss our schedule.
When to pay?
EP and full length recordings, we require a 15% deposit to book a session, and 35% of the balance upon commencement of project.
**If a record label is paying for the recording, please put us in contact with the label to coordinate payment arrangements.
